Announcing our winning destinations in the Time Well Spent Magazine Awards 2025

YOU have voted in your droves, and we can finally announce the winners of our special Daytrippers category.
These awards recognise the most extraordinary destinations, less than two hours from London.
And the winners are...

BEST HOTEL

WINNER: Port Lympne
This remarkable destination is set within 600 acres of English countryside, which is home to more than 900 animals and over 75 species, and its prime purpose is to save and repopulate endangered species.
Its accommodation includes the Lion Lodge - bathing in luxury with a lion’s nose pressed against the window - Treehouse Hotel, Rhino Lodge, Bear Lodge, Wolf Lodge, Hog Deer Creek, Leopard Creek and an assortment of futuristic bubbles, forest hideaways and glamping experiences.

BEST FAMILY ATTRACTION

WINNER: Legoland Windsor
With over 55 interactive rides, live shows, building workshops, driving schools and attractions, all set within 150 acres of beautiful parkland, Legoland Windsor has been making magic from bricks since the 90s.
The themed rooms at the resort's hotel are a kid's dream, and include in-room treasure hunts, pool, Playstations and of course, Lego. And they go all out at Christmas as well as their Brick or Treat Halloween experience, which features their famous Monster Street.

BEST RESTAURANT

WINNER: Tallow
This cosy womb of a neighbourhood restaurant has 26 covers downstairs and an intimate, 10-seat Chef's Table upstairs.
Husband and wife food whizzes, Donna and Rob Taylor run the restaurant, serving up impossibly beautiful and masterfully constructed dishes from their monthly-changing menu, using the best quality ingredients.
Dreamy highlights currently include smoked ox cheek, with beef fat waffle, gherkins and dijon mayonnaise, or Monkfish with curried mussels, spinach, and yoghurt, plus turbo-sexy desserts like rice pudding with roasted peaches and raspberry sorbet.
It is the definition of destination dining, making a huge impression on our readers, who have voted for it in their droves.

BEST PLAY AREA

WINNER: Mote Park
This glorious, 450 acre, Green Flag winning park is brimming with history and adventures for little ones.
It boasts a miniature railway; a boating, swimming and sailing lake, three epic children's play areas, including the 32 foot high Sky Trail; Dino Golf; Segways; football and rugby pitches; climbing wall; and tree walks.
