This game-changing family members' club masters the elusive village that parents are searching for

Like many working Londoners, we’ve often wondered where that elusive, child-raising village is, particularly during the several thousand year long summer holidays.
Then we found it, in Parsons Green… and it is a game changer.
Jesse’s House is an achingly chic members' club for families, with childcare, soft play, jungle gym, play areas, heated indoor and outdoor pools, and a kid’s cinema, plus co-working spaces, adult’s only gym and fitness classes.

It feels like a luxury Mediterranean resort, with perfectly chopped cushions everywhere, and sumptuous sun loungers around the pool.
But it’s full of understanding parents, who don’t tut in the restaurant when your child performs a rap with the tones of an army drill sergeant.
Most importantly, the mum-guilt disappears, because you know the children will be happy while you work, take a fitness class, or simply a well-deserved breather.

It combines chic and calming dusky pink and olive interiors with fun, but tasteful murals of flowers and animals, appealing to kids and parents.
There’s a gorgeous restaurant and terrace, where we enjoyed excellent salads, grilled dishes, and wine with a thoughtful kid’s menu for even the pickiest of eaters. There’s even a mini play area tucked inside the restaurant.
In the olive tree studded courtyard, there’s a cafe serving ice creams and light bites, an adorable football pitch, outdoor play area and just inside, you’ll find a dinky kid’s cinema, full of colourful bean bags.

The adult’s and kid’s classes are cleverly synched, so you can enjoy a Pilates or Carifit class while babies enjoy classes like baby ballet or Hartbeeps, and older children enjoy a vast range of classes from arts and crafts, sports, dance or theatre to cookery sessions.
The lovely part, is that you can dip in and out. Spend an hour catching up on emails and calls in the tranquil co-working space and soundproofed booths, then splash about with your kids in the beautiful outdoor pool.
There is even a Swim School for babies, toddlers and children up to 10, with small class sizes and fully trained instructors.

It’s also home to the most beautiful and spotlessly clean soft play we’ve ever seen, which also serves fabulous coffee. It’s a pastel and white oasis of slides, balls, and elegant murals.
Everything is carefully thought out, from the Milk Bar with complimentary formula to top up bottles throughout the day, to quiet areas with Moses baskets to pop babies into, when they’re not in the creche.
There is even a face entry system to enable access into the different spaces, when you have a baby in one arm and a bag in the other.

Walking around, you can feel the warm sense of community between the mums, dads and children here, aided by the club’s events, which include Build-a-Bear sessions, kid’s discos, visits from giant dinosaurs, and whole-family entertainment, with wine.
New mums aren’t isolated, and working parents can keep on top of work, fitness, friendships and quality time with their children, without the relentless juggle and guilt.
It’s one of OurHouse’s four family clubs, which includes Jaego’s in Kensal Rise, and two more - Orly’s in East Sheen and Leo’s in Clapham - opening next year.
This is the blueprint for how to make the modern world easier for families, and we need one in every postcode.
