GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF STAR MANON LAGRÈVE’S INSIDER GUIDE TO CLAPHAM

Great British Bake Off Star Manon Lagrève Selects Clapham's Best Food and Drink Spots

Catapulted to fame after making Prue Leath and Paul Hollywood weak at the knees with her Chelsea buns and matcha and white chocolate biscuits in Great British Bake Off, Manon Lagrève is now a celebrity chef and recipe developer, wowing bellies with her cookbooks. Born and raised on a farm in rural Brittany, she learned how to bake with her food-obsessed mother and grandmother, making breads, biscuits and desserts from scratch.

And she has partnered with Boursin and FoodCycle to create show-stopping French recipes inspiring Boursin lovers to elevate everyday dishes and combat food waste by using commonly wasted ingredients. Research shows that 56% of people don’t know what to do with their leftover ingredients, with the UK's top, most wasted foods including chicken, bread, vegetables, bananas and cucumber. Manon’s solutions include Boursin and Spinach stuffed chicken roulade, Creamy plant-based Boursin pasta and Almond and Boursin grilled Cod, with Frites and Peas.

The French chef now lives in leafy Clapham and has turned her discerning palate to her neighbourhood, to bring us the best places to eat and drink around the leafy, well-heeled suburb.

Manon’s easy recipes can be found at www.boursinbistrorecipes.co.uk and further inspiration can be explored on the Boursin Instagram channel

______________

COFFEE

LANE EIGHT

I love to go to Lane Eight in front of Clapham Common station. It is run by a lovely Australian guy, who knows how to make a great coffee. Sadly France is not well known to make good coffee...

Lane Eight Coffee, 6 The Pavement, London SW4 0HY

BREAKFAST

PEAR TREE CAFE

It's a hard one, but the pancakes at Pear Tree Cafe in Battersea are divine. And if you haven’t tried Gail’s ham and cheese croissant (filled with a peppery Béchamel) you should.

Pear Tree Cafe,Lakeside Cafe Battersea Park, London SW11 4NJ

LUNCH

LINA STORES

Lina Stores has a lovely atmosphere and fantastic quality food at a great price. And Common Cafe has some really good and seasonal grilled cheese sandwiches.

Lina Stores, 22 The Pavement, London SW4 0HY

DINNER

COOK

COOK serves the best comfort food which reminds me of home. Their Galette Bretonne (savoury buckwheat pancake) with an egg, ham, cream, Boursin and mushrooms is a must.

COOK Clapham, 37 Abbeville Road, Clapham, London SW4 9JX

DRINKS

WC WINE & CHARCUTERIE

WC Wine & Charcuterie is set inside old public toilets beneath Clapham Common station. It's a quirky and.cosy bar with great wines and drinks, so is perfect for a date night.

WC Wine & Charcuterie,Clapham Common South Side, London SW4 7AA

INSIDER TIP

BOMBAY BICYCLE CHEF

The best Indian take away to date is Bombay Bicycle, just call them straight away for the best paneer masala.

And if you're a parent, try Mud Club, next to the kids' play park in The Common.

Bombay Bicycle Chef, 28 Queenstown Rd, London SW8 3RX
