maxi micro scooter

Maxi Micro Deluxe LED Foldable Scooter

The perfect marriage of Swiss-level safety engineering with a glorious, bold design and super-smooth riding makes for the ultimate kid’s scooter.

The stylish neon orange and blue colours brighten up trips to school. It also features jazzy light up (battery-free) wheels and a brilliantly simple, foldable design. In one click, it’s down and can be easily carried or stored away. Genius.

Our little tester adored the design and how smooth the lean steering is - the extra-grippy, moulded silicone footplate meant he didn’t slip off, and its super responsive braking system gave us added peace of mind.

They have literally thought of everything - even the rubber grips are toxin-free.

Brilliantly, the scooter grows with the rider, from ages 5-12, with a height adjustable handlebar, built for growth.

It’s a winning combination of durability, portability, safety and fun design, designed to build children’s gross motor skills, hand eye coordination, core strength, spatial awareness, and confidence.

zoo print camera review

Zoo Print Camera

Words haven’t been invented to describe how much we love this adorable, instant-print camera.

The point-and-shoot camera instantly prints black and white photos directly from the camera in high resolution, or stores them for printing later. This is a huge hit with our excited little tester. The 3 print rolls it comes with double as stickers, to easily pop the photo art onto fridges, cards and books.

Brilliantly - for grown-ups - it uses snazzy heat transfer technology, which means your child can happily snap away, without you worrying about expensive ink cartridges.

Its sizeable 32GB memory card is ideal for snap-happy kids, storing up to 2000 photos or 4H videos. There’s a lovely, bright 3 inch colour screen, lots of fun filters, settings, and selfie mode, and it can easily be switched between camera or video mode. It comes in a gaggle of super cute designs, from unicorn, fox and bear to our choice, the brilliant Dino. The perfect gift for mini Rankins.

yoto mini

Yoto Mini

The Yoto Mini will save your Christmas Holidays and beyond.

The award-winning, multifunctional, Yoto Mini audio player is an ingenious, screen-free solution, supporting independent play, listening and learning from ages 0-12+.

They have an enormous range of cards for all ages, including Disney and Julia Donaldson, Roald Dahl, Marvel, and Horrible Histories.

Our testers found it invaluable at bedtime, on long car journeys and trips away, sharing one Yoto with Yoto Headphones, which have a daisy chain feature to allow two sets to listen together.

It also has a gaggle of (child AND grown-up pleasing) functions and features, including a clock; OK-to-wake settings (can I get an amen?) its own daily podcast; family radio stations; as well as endless hours of free stories, music, podcasts and sleep sounds.

Iron Man playset

Iron Man and His Awesome Friends Iron Quarters Playset by Hasbro

Our Marvel super-fan was blown away by this two in one playset, which is crowned with an Iron Man mask that can also be worn, for the ultimate role-play.

There are more than 40 sounds and phrases (naturally “Time to Armour Up” is a favourite) and fabulous features include a falling monitor, a Hulk-Smashable wall, a lift which magically armours Iron Man up in helmet and wing accessories with jazzy lights and sounds; a stairs-to-slide trap, and flight arm.

It comes with poseable Iron Man and Ultron action figures and five accessories, and there are a gaggle of figures which can be collected separately for it.

Luckily, it’s as sturdy as Iron Man, so will survive the relentless rough play it will receive from its enthusiastic owner.

3Doodler pen

3Doodler Start+ 3D Printing Pen Set

This is the perfect gift for little creatives. The safe, wireless and easy to use pen enables children to make 3D designs, from toys, buildings and ornaments to jewellery and anything else their imaginations fancy.

My eager little artist loved the fact that the creations solidified in a flash and the creative freedom she had without wires (thanks to USB charging) and we didn't need to worry about burnt fingers, because the low-heat filament is safe to touch. The mega bonus for parents, is that this is mess-free art - it's non-adhesive and easy to clean up.

This kid-friendly tech has opened my child's mind to brilliant new creative possibilities, and it's her favourite toy to bring ideas to life, with an endless succession of doll house food, spiders, key rings and tree decorations.

It comes with 72 colourful strands of plastic filament and a long lasting battery when charged.

Scalextric review

Let’s Play Scalextric - Race Set

Scalextric has made a massive comeback, and this is the perfect toy to introduce the next generation (aged 3+) to the joys of slot car racing.

The kit is easy and quick to assemble and in no time, we are racing our cars across an eight figure race track.

The cars are super sturdy and resist all bumps and the magna traction race track means the cars stay on the track, even at high speeds - there are four speed settings for minimal crashes, as children improve their skills.

Pleasingly, when disassembled the kit takes up minimum storage space.

Our tiny testers were utterly absorbed and the Scalextric mantle has been passed on - at least until they’re in bed, then it’s our turn.

Airbrush maker

Maped Airbrush Maker

This safe, rechargeable and super-fun new gift invites children from 5+ to create vibrant, graffiti-inspired art.

Our budding Banksy was immediately addicted. She simply popped one of the 12 colourful pens into the electronic airbrush and pressed the button, to fire designs out onto the customisable foam board or paper sheets which come with the kit.

There are a gaggle of letter and graphic stencils which can be used, along with graffiti-inspired stickers to customise the art. She loved experimenting with different colours and the impressive effects from layering up and making her own stencils.

Maped are experts in designing innovative products that nurture imaginations and encourage children to learn, and this product ticks all of those boxes, in luminous spray.

fact or fake game

Fact or Fake Game

This utterly addictive and hilarious electronic trivia game has a built in Game Master who hosts the show with a built in voice.

Firing out more than 1000 brilliantly bonkers statements, you must decide what is fact or fake, in this adrenaline-pumping, button-smashing game. Was the Pringles packaging designer really buried in a Pringles container? Did a man once eat an entire aeroplane? Find out, in this weird and wonderful family game.

copy doodle draw print

Doodle Copy Draw and Print Set

This creative doodle pad is the first product of its kind, allowing children to design artwork and then watch it print out instantly.

This innovative, new set was a huge hit with our arty little tester, who got a thrill from seeing her art being printed with the press of a button, ready to be coloured with the provided crayons.

Cunningly, it uses colourful carbon paper to create the prints, so you don’t have to worry about expensive ink cartridges.

It’s a wonderfully unique alternative to screens, encouraging them to sketch, trace and doodle a professionally printed masterpiece, with ease.

robo alive review

Robo Alive Deep Sea Monster Surprise

The opening of this toy was almost as exciting as the toy itself.

Our tester eagerly delved inside the barrel on a slimy treasure hunt to discover more than 20 surprises (from stickers to more slime) including an extraordinary, water-activated sea monster, which comes to life.

Digging through slime, he uncovered octopus parts to assemble into a wonderfully colourful sea creature.

The real wow factor is its extraordinary movement - when dropped in the bath or placed on the slime, it perfectly mimics the motion of a real octopus, and the eyes glow bright yellow. Even the grown-ups were impressed.

It turns bath time into an adventure and is his favourite new companion, in and out of the tub.

Bobbi kids wellies

Bobbi Kid’s Wellies - Merry People

Have your kids jumping for joy in the nearest muddy puddle this Christmas, with these brilliantly stylish kid’s wellies.

Offering the perfect combination of comfort, durability and playful style, these super cute ankle boots are warm - they are tested to handle sub-zero temperatures - comfy, 100% waterproof, with arch support and are easy for little ones to slip on and off, with easy-pull tabs for independent little fingers.

We loved the range of colours, from Oxford Blue and tan, to Forest Green, Red, Mustard, Rust and Lavender.

fold out doll's house

Fold-Out and Play: Doll’s House

An impossibly beautiful (and sturdy) doll’s house which neatly folds back into a book that you can neatly store on a shelf? What black magic is this?

We adore Ingela P Arrhenius’s beautifully illustrated book/toy, which has stand-up characters to play with, along with colourful furniture, accessories and props to build, and stickers for kids to decorate the house to their taste.

There is even a handy drawer within the book to store the press-out pieces, which makes it the perfect toy to entertain them on flights and at restaurants, and a great space-saving alternative to traditional doll’s houses.

Each page/room has cupboards, fridges and drawers that can be opened to add depth and excitement to the play. And if you flip it over, there is even a garden with a slide accessory for outdoor play.

wooden stacking game

Wooden Stacking Characters Game

This is a character-building present - literally. These beautiful, painted wooden characters are bursting with personality, for a creative family game to see who can build the highest tower.

There are 12 chunky wooden pieces in assorted designs, shapes and sizes, to artfully balance on top of each other in the most creative and cunning ways. Although they are almost too pretty to play with...almost.

fun lockets journal

FunLockets Secret Journal

Every little girl loves a secret journal, and this one is bulging with hidden keys, secret compartments and more than 30 surprise goodies.

For the ultimate protection for their classified information, it even comes in a blingtastic, lockable secret heart box.

Inside are individual, lockable compartments and the all-important diary, with stickers, stencils, key rings, gems, and various notebooks for their clandestine musings.

It’s super sturdy, colourful and brimming with the sort of drama and mystery which intoxicates our little tester.

jurassic world maze

Jurassic World Rebirth Maze Challenge

Marbles, dinosaurs and mazes - the perfect, screen-free combo for our little tester.

This roarsome maze has handles for the player to artfully navigate the marble through all five check points and climb the central tower to freedom.

For added peril, various dinos (from the T-Rex to the Titanosaurus) will attempt to block your path. Our dino fan particularly enjoyed the interchangeable maze units, which meant he could create a fresh maze challenge each time. A-maze-ing.

no nasties polish

No Nasties - Kid’s Scented Nail Polish Set

These ingenious, non-toxic and kid-safe varnishes come in a gaggle of fruity scents to match their colours, from Blueberry Muffin and Cherry Berry, to Strawberry Cupcake, Gummy Grape and Fruity Fun.

The pamper pack comes with five varnishes - the smell factor was a mega-hit with our little tester, adding a whole new dimension to her pamper parties. And the vibrant colours are gorgeous.

The best bit for grown-ups is that they’re for “play not stay” - so the varnish is easily peeled off to protect their little nails, and prevent them from getting into bother at school the next day.

baker ross christmas

Baker Ross Christmas Crafts

Baker Ross is the the snow QUEEN of Christmas crafting.

They have an endless selection of brilliant and affordable goodies, to keep your little ones busy and creative over the holidays.

Our mini elves tested their games - which make great stocking fillers or table favours - from classic Snowman Catch-a-Ball Games, to mini Christmas 4-in-a-row games - a great toy for them to play with their Elf on a Shelf.

They loved the wonderful crafting kits, dressing characters in festive pyjamas, creating their own snow globes, making Santa Stop Here door hangers, and beautiful winter fairy dancing puppet kits.

There are also fun magic Christmas trees, exciting Letter to Santa colour-in and sticker sets. And we adored the Make a Christmas Wish Kit, creating a beautiful sleigh and reindeer display, festooned with star cards, for them to write their Christmas wishes onto.

wizard of oz bath

Warner Brothers Wizard of Oz Shower Set

Click your heels together three times, and you’ll appear in the bath with Dorothy’s beautifully presented basket of pampering goodies, to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the classic movie.

Inside, you’ll discover an impossibly cute Toto inspired body exfoliator - complete with pink tongue - and a poppy fragranced body wash.

Add a dose of the fragrant body cleanser to the exfoliator for a super charged lather and invigorating cleanse.

Our little witch couldn’t wait to travel up the yellow brick road to the tub to test this out.

slime mart

Slime Mart - Food Creations

Our testers adored these ultra realistic, DIY slime food kits.

The little kits come with chequered table cloths and prettily presented packs of slime for their kitchen creations, from bottles of maple syrup, butter shaped slime and packs of “dough” slime for the waffle kit, along with moulds, to mixed fruit, blueberries and strawberry slime to top your fruit tarts, along with pastry crust slime tubs, a piping bag of cream filling and fruit moulds. The perfect combo of creativity, and squishy, stress-busting sensory play.

elf spirit clausometer

Warner Brothers Elf Clausometer Bath Fizzers

Spread Christmas cheer all over your body, with this brilliant Spirit Clausometer, inspired by the festive movie classic.

Spin the wheel and if you land on a fizzer, you win a relaxing bath, fragranced like the Swirly Gum Drops that Elf passes through on his magical journey from the North Pole to Manhattan.

A must for any Elf fans.

poo curling game

Poo Curling Game

This cheeky game will wipe the frown off even the biggest party pooper.

Simply unroll the target mat on a floor or table, pick your team of poos, and take turns sliding them towards the centre. The mat even features subtle glide tracks that mimic curling 'ice' markings.

It’s a wonderfully daft and strangely addictive game to entertain the whole family this Christmas.

disney tinks bath

Disney Tinks Pixie Forever Bath Fizzer Duo

Add a sprinkle of magic to your little fairy’s bath time, with this gorgeous duo of Disney Tinkerbell inspired bath fizzers, fragranced with wildflower.

Simply place one fizzer into a warm running bath, and float away as the bubbles whisk you away to Neverland.

santa jolly jokes book

Santa Jolly Jokes for Funny Kids

What do you call a badly behaved Reindeer? Rude-dolph.

Kids will love this and hundreds of other festive gags in this brand-new Christmas joke book in the Buster-Laugh-a-Lot series. The perfect stocking filler. Ho Ho Ha.
