An Oasis of Luxury in the Buzzing Heart of the Capital

We stay at the perfectly positioned Radisson Blu Hotel, Euston Square, an elegantly restored, four star Edwardian hotel in Fitzrovia.
Its location is delicious, with Oxford Street, Regent’s Park and Soho a lazy totter away. Pleasingly for us, after a late night back from watching Wicked the Musical, it is also a few short steps from Warren Street station to our bed, so we sink happily into pillows, moments after cheering on Glinda and Elpheba.
The sophisticated reception has a grand, black marble desk, and is studded with chandeliers and quirky art pieces, from giant bronze llamas, to contemporary statement paintings.

Our family room is a generous size, and my daughter excitedly notes the children’s playpark out of our window.
It’s a spotlessly clean, contemporary space with tawny walls, peach sofa bed, floral curtains and a wonderfully firm King-sized bed.

The generous marble bathroom has a bath, double sinks, Urban Apothecary toiletries. And there are all the luxury touch points you would expect, from white waffle robes to Nespresso machine.
We are particularly chuffed to discover that check-out is a civilised 11am and breakfast is served until 10.30am - 11am on weekends.
Naturally, with an excited seven-year-old in tow, we are down at their chic, Steak & Lobster restaurant long before that - although my daughter enjoys flopping on the massive bed watching morning cartoons in a giant robe, while I get ready.

A former Aston Martin showroom, the deceptively large space is now a sun-drenched dining area, with statement lighting, and verdant green, gold and white colourways.
There is a large and good quality breakfast offering, with pastries, fruit, cheeses, fish, cereals, assorted toppings and a hot buffet. There is also an A La Carte breakfast menu, included with our stay.

I order the Eggs Benedict, which come on a chargrilled ciabatta, with crispy pancetta and truffle hollandaise. The buttermilk pancakes with berry sauce are a big hit with my daughter, with a significant amount remaining around her mouth.
It’s a wonderful little oasis of luxury and calm in the buzzing heart of our city, with a newly refreshed hop, skip and jump back to Warren Street Station the following morning.
