Whoops! That snuck up on you, didn't it? Before you knew it, you were starting at the February page of your calendar and realising you favourite restaurants are all booked up for the Big Day.

Well, don't panic. There's still time. These are the best London restaurants still open to bookings this Valentine's Day - at least, they were when we went live. Don't blame us if you dilly-dallied around.

The Mandrake

The Mandrake rewrites romance with three provocative, high-octane experiences for couples who favour intensity over tradition: Cupid Kills: A 90s Valentine’s at YOPO, The Mandrake Salon in partnership with Lelo, and the ritual-led escape of DAMU Mud Caves. Cupid Kills offers a cinematic, immersive dining experience inspired by cult 90s love stories, complete with live performances, vintage projections, a five-course tasting menu, indulgent sharing mains, and cocktails, though prices were not specified. The Mandrake Salon explores power, desire, and sensory play with guided demonstrations, luxury Lelo gifts, and Champagne, priced from £250 per person, £600 for two with Champagne, or £1,001 for two including an overnight stay. For the ultimate indulgence, DAMU Mud Caves blends ancient bathing rituals with modern erotic theatre, offering private mud cave access, Champagne, entry to the Salon, and an overnight stay, starting at £1,299 for two.

At Sexy Fish, Valentine’s Day unfolds with ‘The Perfect Catch’ on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February, with a specially curated dessert, Valentine’s vanilla cheesecake with strawberrycalamansi sorbetwhite rose petals, and white chocolate crumb. On 14 February, The Coral Reef Room offers an exclusive Valentine’s dining experience, accompanied by a roaming violinist from 6pm, while the main restaurant features a live singer from 6-9:30pm, followed by a DJ from 9:30pm and a saxophonist and percussionist from 10:30pm. The Coral Reef Room requires a minimum spend of £150 per person, and the main restaurant £100 per person from 7pm.

Perched in the clouds above Canary Wharf, the views up here are worth the visit alone. But given that you won't be taking your eyes off your hot date for the evening, it's important that the food does the job, too. Luckily, we've no qualms recommending it on that front.

A six-course Valentine's menu awaits, created by Executive Chef Robert Manea, with highlights including lobster raviolo and lamb rack with truffle sauce.

The Valentine’s dining experience includes a complimentary special ‘Calliope Heart’ dessert combining milk chocolate mousse with raspberry and lychee coulis, with services available on Friday 13 February for dinner at £150 per person and Saturday 14 February for lunch at £100 per person, and dinner at £250 per person, and Sunday 15 February for lunch at £100 per person. Balthazar brings a distinctly Parisian flourish to Valentine’s weekend, with the upstairs private dining room Le Grand Salon Privé opening from 5pm. On Saturday the restaurant will have a live piano vocalist available exclusively for Valentine’s Set Menu bookings. The Valentine’s Set Menu priced at £49 per person is available on Friday and throughout the weekend for lunch and dinner, featuring baked Camembert with truffled honey or house-cured gravadlax to start, a sharing surf and turf main of 28-day aged Côte de Boeuf and Madagascan prawns with classic French sides, and a sharing dessert of raspberry and milk chocolate mousse with salted caramel shortbread

If being by the water is your thing, Smith's Bar & Grill, nestled in Little Venice, offers the chance for a proper slap-up meal and a stroll by the canals afterwards.

For a highly reasonable £70, you can bag a five-course menu with bubbles on arrival and you'll eat to the sound of violins throughout the evening. If you're not one to spend the evening taking selfies (God bless you), you'll still leave with a professionally taken photo to remember the evening.

Priced at £285 per person, including a welcome drink, with an optional £180 wine pairing, the menu will feature poached lobster with bisque mayonnaise, toro tartare with caviar, kanpachi with truffle potato julienne, scallop and squid sizzling with jalapeño and coriander, a chef’s selection of nigiri and sashimi, and truffle ice cream.

This Valentine’s Day, Rosi at The Beaumont will present a special set menu on Saturday 14 February, priced at £95 per person. The menu begins with snacks to share, including Maldon rock oyster tempura with miso mayonnaise and ponzu and Wiltshire truffle arancini with Parmesan cream, followed by a choice of starters such as duck liver parfait, London Smoke & Cure salmon tartare, or wild mushroom velouté. Main courses include native Cornish lobster linguine, treacle-cured dry-aged beef fillet with triple-cooked chips, or cauliflower and apple risotto, before a blood orange sorbet palate cleanser. Desserts include a rhubarb and custard baked Alaska to share, with alternatives of passion fruit parfait or hazelnut Paris Brest.

Where better to celebrate Valentine’s, than bathed in romantic lighting from a canopy of ornate chandeliers, at an A-list hotspot designed as a love letter to a family and the continent behind it? 

Colonel Saab will launch a five-course Valentine’s Tasting Menu for £140 per couple, including a glass of Rose Champagne and complimentary roses at their multi-award-winning Trafalgar Square and Holborn restaurants, loved by everybody from Jennifer Coolidge and Reese Witherspoon to Jackie Chan. 

The menu includes an amuse-bouche Kadhi Pakoda Mousse, followed by Kadak Seekh Kebab or Black Pepper Paneer Tikka.

Afterwards, enjoy their famous Malabar Chicken Curry or Makhmali Palak Paneer with layered parantha and rice.

The Consummation of Love takes the form of their viral, Thandai Crumble with vanilla ice cream, or the Shikanji Rose Tart with red wine-poached figs.

Then finish with some Valentine’s chocolate petit fours with your tea or coffee.
